The Conference will address the following themes: are there limits to freedom of expression? (protecting individuals and protecting religious beliefs); the relation between democracy and freedom of press (complete freedom, bounded freedom and what is the scope of these limits?); citizenship rights, and community rights of minorities, disadvantaged and vulnerable groups within society; and development of media techniques, civil society participation, and democratic practices.

Morocco Voter Education Poster 2007
3 December, 2007 - 22:22
A colorful, two-sided poster for educating 14-18 year olds about the election process in Morocco.
Publish Date:
15 July 2007A local Moroccan organization (2007 Daba), an international NGO (National Democratic Institute) and an international publishing house (Scholastic, Inc.) collaborated to produce a colorful, two-sided poster for educating 14-18 year olds about the legislative election process in Morocco. Young people were included in the design of the materials, which were distributed at non-partisan voter education events and through a traveling caravan that circulated through Morocco prior to the September 7, 2007, elections.
One side of the poster highlights the electoral process, from voter registration through campaigning and voting. The other side includes more information on political parties, how party platforms are developed and the voting process.
In addition to educating young people as they witnessed the process so they are prepared when they are of voting age, they also took the posters home, where they could educate parents and older siblings to help promote voting.
