2003 Amendment to the Canada Elections and Income Tax Acts
The 2003 Amendment to the Canada Elections Act the Income Tax Act extends disclosure and registration requirements for political entities, introduces new limits on political contributions, and imposes a ban on contributions from unions and corporations to political parties and leadership contestants. Under the amending Act, the Income Tax Act was changed to increase the maximum tax credit for a political contribution from $500 to $650, and to allow electoral district associations to issue tax receipts.

The Funding of Political Parties and Election Campaigns
This handbook aims to increase awareness about political finance laws and practices around the world and in so doing encourages reflection on regulatory reform options. It provides a general description and analysis of the central features of party funding in six regions: Africa, Asia, Latin America, Western Europe, and Central and Eastern Europe. It also examines two key issues: the enforcement of political finance regulations, and the role of funding in promoting gender equality.

An Introduction to Advocacy: A Training Guide
After working with several African institutions, the SARA Project discovered that its research alone, which adopted a problem and solution approach, was not enough to change policy. Instead, coordinated advocacy was also a critical component of the process to affect change. Designed for researchers, managers, and NGO personnel, this guide provides practical guidance on how citizens can shape policy through effective advocacy campaigns.
